Postulate of Symbolic Intelligence in the Cosmos

“A plate in the universe proves human intelligence. A planet in the Universe proves Universal Intelligence.”
— Joaquim Santos Albino (IH-JSA.001-SOCIAL)

1. Intelligence as a signature left in matter

If, in a cosmic desert, we were to find a porcelain plate — a simple object, yet clearly shaped by intentional hands — we would not hesitate to conclude: someone has been here. Its form, symmetry, functionality, and statistical improbability of arising by chance would be enough to invoke the notion of intelligence behind its existence.

Now, the same reasoning can be reversed and expanded: if a simple plate proves human intelligence, what kind of proof does a planet constitute, with atmosphere, gravitational balance, self-sustaining magnetic fields, hydrological cycles, and at times, life?

2. The planet as an artifact of Universal Intelligence

A planet is, by comparison, a far more complex artifact than a plate. It is a self-organized system, subject to laws, forces, and dynamic balances. It is both a receptacle and an expression. It was not shaped by hands — but by something prior to the very idea of hands: an intelligent matrix that governs order, symmetry, cycles, emergence, and dissipation.

Its mere existence challenges the idea of blind randomness. Even in the most naturalistic scientific models, the precision of universal constants (gravity, electron charge, speed of light) seems to suggest a “tuning” — or at least an underlying coherence.

3. Strong Analogies: Plate / Planet

ObjectPresumed CreatorCommon PropertyDegree of Complexity
PlateHuman IntelligencePurpose, form, and orderSimple
PlanetUniversal IntelligenceImplicit purpose, structure, and harmonyHigh

Both are supports. Both are containers of possibilities. But the planet carries within it a deeper signature — not of a localized creator, but of an intrinsic order of the universe itself, which allows such entities to arise.

4. Complementary Hypothesis: the Intelligent Matrix of the Cosmos

In this context, the following hybrid postulate is plausible:

The existence of planets, like that of human-made objects, can only emerge from a matrix with intelligent potential.

This matrix may not be conscious like the human mind, but it is functionally intelligent: it regulates, organizes, adapts, allows. Calling it “God” is merely religious language. Calling it Universal Intelligence is to recognize that, before any Self, there was already a structure capable of generating Selves.

5. Speculative-Hybrid Conclusion

If we accept that a plate in the cosmos is sufficient to invoke the presence of the human, then we must accept that a planet is sufficient to invoke the presence of the Cosmic Intelligible.

This postulate does not aim to prove God. It aims for something more subtle: to show that intelligence does not originate in humans — it merely reflects through them. The Universe is both the mirror and the source of intelligence. And every planet, every cell, every equation, is its material echo.
